On 16 October, according to media reports, Trump told journalists that he knows unknown details of the Russian-Ukrainian war that he may make public later. He also said that he is in contact with Putin and Zelensky and believes both want the war to end. He gave no specifics.
The “energy truce”
On 11 October, according to outlets, Trump announced an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia taking effect immediately: a halt to strikes on energy facilities. The Ukrainian authorities, according to media reports, reported continued Russian strikes on energy after this statement.
What this means for Kyivans
