Kyiv police reported the detention of a man suspected of growing cannabis in rented flats. According to law enforcement, he made about 100,000 hryvnias of profit a month. Capital media reported this on 13 October.

What is known

According to the police, the man set up special conditions for growing plants in the flats. Details on the quantity seized and the possible penalty are usually clarified by investigators when they announce a notice of suspicion.

Why flats

Law enforcement has repeatedly noted that drug dealers use rented housing to conceal their activity. Signals for neighbours can be a sharp smell, permanently closed windows, increased electricity use or frequent visits by strangers.
