City council deputies work in the interests of residents. You can appeal to the deputy elected in your constituency or to any member of the council.

Ways to appeal

  • A personal reception. Deputies have reception schedules. They are published on the council’s website and in announcements.
  • A written appeal. Send a letter by email or by post.
  • Through social networks and offices. Many deputies reply in messengers, but an official answer should be requested in writing.

How to write an appeal

  1. Say who you are: full name, address, contacts.
  2. Describe the problem briefly and with facts: what, where, when it happened.
  3. Formulate a demand: what exactly you ask to be done.
  4. Attach photos or copies of documents.

What the deadlines for a reply are

Appeals are considered within the deadlines set by law. As a rule, an answer is provided within a month, and if the issue is complex, this period can be extended.

If there is no reply

Remind them by letter and keep proof that the appeal was submitted. You can appeal to the head of the body or the head of the council. Civic organisations also help in such cases.

It is better to make appeals specific: “repair the road on street X, building Y” will work faster than general complaints about the state of the roads.
